About Dr. Jeffrey Kasper

Dr. Kasper was raised in the greater Baltimore, MD area on an Arabian horse farm north of Baltimore City by his mother, a horse trainer, and his father, an ophthalmologist. Fascinated by ophthalmology and medicine in general at an early age, Dr. Kasper enrolled at the prestigious Georgetown University and completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology and Biology. Additional graduate work was continued at Georgetown University in Human Physiology followed by entrance into Medical school. As a second-generation Ophthalmologist, his lifelong goal of medicine awaited him at the Georgetown University School of Medicine where he graduated with distinction. After an intensive year studying internal medicine and surgery at several Washington, D.C., hospitals, he pursued his residency training in ophthalmology at Georgetown University Hospital where he was honored with the Lorenz Zimmerman award for excellence in the study of Ophthalmology. His continued interest in the study of retinal diseases took him to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, where he completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery.
